AFTER LOSS SUPPORT Services

Practical and Emotional Guidance after Loss

Losing someone reshapes your world overnight. The routines, roles, and rhythms you once relied on suddenly shift, and you’re left trying to navigate the unfamiliar landscape of life without them. Preparing for a loved one's passing ahead of time can  reduce uncertainty and ease the transition for those left behind.

I offer compassionate, practical support for everything from emotional overwhelm to the daily logistics that feel impossible after a loss. It’s about creating clarity, emotional readiness, and a network of support

so families can focus on healing rather than logistics after the loss.

The Heart of After Loss Support

Beyond The Paperwork

After Loss Support is care for the living after someone has died. It’s the support that often disappears right when the shock and reality set in. After Loss Support focuses on what happens after the funeral, after the cards stop coming, and after the shock begins to wear off. This is often when grief feels most isolating. I

My role is to provide steady, non-judgmental support as you find your way through. I work with individuals and families who are navigating grief, emotional overwhelm, exhaustion, confusion, and big life adjustments after a loss. through steady presence, conversation, practical guidance, and emotional support, I help people process what’s happening, feel less alone, and find their footing again—at their own pace, in their own way.

After Loss Support consists of the following:

  • Practical guidance after the death: There are many tasks, decisions, and loose ends that fall into a survivor’s hands. I can help you understand what needs to be done and what can be delegated, navigate funeral planning, memorial ideas, or alternative rituals, organize paperwork and next steps, and Find local resources, support groups, and professional referrals.

  • Emotional guidance: The "quiet after" ... when everyone else goes back to their lives, I can help you rebuild yours , along with your sense of self, manage the shifts in family relationships and dynamics, and work with emotional touchpoints like holidays and birthdays. Griefwork is an important part of emotional support after loss.

  • Empowerment: You gain control over your journey after the loss, ensuring you get done what needs to get done with minimal difficulty.

Ultimately, after loss support is a holistic approach that combines legal, practical, and emotional work, helping you move forward with compassion and clarity.

What you need to know about AFTER LOSS SUPPORT

Generational Hand Connection
  • After-loss support provides both emotional and practical guidance for individuals and families following the death of a loved one. It helps you manage the many tasks that come after a death—like organizing paperwork, planning memorials, and connecting with grief resources—while offering compassionate support throughout the process.

  • Grief counseling focuses on emotional healing, while after-loss support also includes hands-on, logistical guidance. As a survivorship consultant, I help families navigate the practical side of loss—handling documents, coordinating notifications, and connecting with trusted professionals—whatever needs doing.

  • After-loss services are ideal for executors, adult children, widows, widowers, or anyone managing a loved one’s estate or affairs. It’s also helpful for those who feel overwhelmed by the administrative and emotional tasks that follow a death.

  • Support can include:

    • Creating a custom post-death checklist

    • Reviewing or organizing paperwork

    • Coordinating memorial or celebration-of-life services

    • Notifying family, friends, and service providers

    • Referring to trusted professionals (attorneys, accountants, financial planners, etc.)

    • Offering grief resources and emotional guidance

  • The timeline varies depending on your needs. Some families need help for a few weeks, while others work with me for several months as they process estate matters and emotional healing. On average, estate work and transitions can take 12–18 months, and ongoing support helps ease that journey.

  • Not at all. Survivorship consulting can begin before a loss occurs, to help prepare and organize in advance. This proactive approach eases the burden later and allows families to grieve without the added stress of logistics.

  • A death doula provides continuity of care—supporting families before, during, and after death. My after-loss services extend that support by helping loved ones navigate the new landscape without their loved one's presence.
